PowerMetal.de gives Fragments 8/10
German rock and metal publication PowerMetal.de has reviewed Mörkekraft’s debut album Fragments, giving it a strong 8/10 rating.

The review places Mörkekraft somewhere between alternative rock, heavy rock, stoner rock and subtly fuzzed-out desert rock, describing Fragments as memorable, slightly grunge-tinged and dryly produced heavy rock with a light desert feel and a nod toward Seattle.
PowerMetal.de highlights the album as a clear statement of quality from the Norwegian trio. The material is described as timeless, drawing elements from the mid-90s while also showing familiarity with the later sounds of Palm Springs and the surrounding desert rock scene — especially through the dirty guitar sound.
The review also praises the production, calling it powerful and weighty, yet highly differentiated. The balance between dominant guitars, pumping rhythm work and strong vocals is highlighted as one of the album’s strengths. The vocal performance is compared in spirit to Chris Cornell, with PowerMetal.de pointing to an intimate yet forceful delivery throughout the record.
At the same time, the review makes it clear that reducing Mörkekraft to their influences would be unfair. According to PowerMetal.de, all eight tracks on Fragments stand confidently on their own, carry a distinctive signature and give the band a strong debut.
One line we are especially proud of:
“All eight tracks on the new album can easily stand on their own, have a distinctive signature and give the Northern Europeans a debut made to measure.”
Fragments is out now on deluxe colored vinyl and digital via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.
