Der Fuzzer reviews Fragments

German webzine Der Fuzzer has reviewed Mörkekraft’s debut album Fragments, released through Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.

May 13, 2026

In the review, Der Fuzzer places the album somewhere between heavy rock, stoner and slightly psychedelic hard rock, describing it as a blend that develops naturally throughout the songs rather than as a fixed concept.

What stands out most to the reviewer is the melodic side of Mörkekraft’s sound. While the guitars clearly operate in heavy territory, the review points to the constant movement within the guitar lines themselves — small shifts, melodic fragments and details that sit on top of the sound without dominating it.

Der Fuzzer also highlights the melancholic atmosphere running through the album. Rather than being exaggerated, it is described as an underlying downward pull that can be heard across much of the record. The often-mentioned Thin Lizzy comparison is also addressed: while the review does not find it entirely accurate, it does note that the melodic approach to the guitar work makes the reference understandable — only delivered in a much heavier and dustier way.

The psychedelic element is present as well, but without long detours or excessive jams. According to Der Fuzzer, the songs remain clearly structured and surprisingly direct, with the guitars carrying much of the album through subtle movement inside the riffs.

The review also praises the production, noting that the album has pressure and weight while still leaving enough room for the melodic elements to come through.

Der Fuzzer sums up Fragments as an album that works through atmosphere and constant melodic movement, creating a coherent whole within its own heavy rock landscape.
