Mörkekraft sign with Octopus Rising by Argonauta Records
Mörkekraft is a Norwegian band that blends rock, stoner, and psychedelic rock into a powerful combination of heavy riffs, atmospheric melodies, and straightforward rock. Inspired by somber forests and soaring eagles, the band creates music that delves into the human struggle and the search for meaning.
The band was formed in Southern Norway after several years of sporadic jam sessions, where the three members drew inspiration from previous musical projects and the foundations of heavy rock. With roots in punk, Scandirock, and experimental rock, Mörkekraft has developed a distinctive musical identity. Described as “a depressed Thin Lizzy” by Martin Skage (You Know Who), the trio balances intensity and melodic finesse in a sound that is both hard-hitting and reflective.
Mörkekraft creates music that is not only meant to be heard but felt – an experience that grabs the listener and pulls them into the depths of darkness. With a solid foundation and a passion for strong melodies, the band is ready to let the world experience the power that lies in the dark.
2025: New Music and New Ambitions
In January 2025, Mörkekraft entered the studio at Bridge Burner Recording in Stavanger, with Ørjan Kristoffersen Lund (Kal-El, NAG) at the helm. Here, they recorded three tracks that were mastered by Steven Grant Bishop (Satyricon, Karavan, Sløtface).
Their debut singles have received airplay on Norwegian national radio NRK P13, including features on shows hosted by Thomas Felberg and Totto Mjelde – respected voices in the country’s rock scene.
In May 2025, Mörkekraft returned to Bridge Burner Recording to continue the creative process with Ørjan Kristoffersen Lund. The sessions resulted in five new songs, bringing the total number of recorded tracks to eight. Together, these songs became the foundation of the band’s debut full-length album, Fragments.
The album was mixed by Ørjan Kristoffersen Lund and mastered by Steven Grant Bishop for both digital and vinyl release. In October 2025, Mörkekraft signed with Octopus Rising by Argonauta Records, and Fragments will be released through the label on May 8, 2026.
